TRANSED/ EDMONTON TRANSIT SERVICE
2018-2020 Bombardier Flexity Freedom #2001-2026 ex 1001-1026

The Valley Line Southeast open for service on November 4, 2023. This line was procured using a P3 "Public Private Partnership" scheme with the winning consortium being responsible for design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the line over a 30 year period. The TransEd Partnership was the winning consortium, and included Bombardier for the LRV's and other aspects of the project. At the end of the 30 year period, during which the City of Edmonton would have paid off all of the costs of the line, it would revert to the City of Edmonton for operations and maintenance. As a result, these LRV's are not technically owned/ operated by the City of Edmonton at this point.
Originally delivered as #1001-1026, the fleet was renumbered for 2001-2026 before commencement of service.
