Edmonton Police Service- 1980 and Chevy's

Prior to the Ford Crown Victoria, the majority of the EPS's marked fleet were Chevrolet Caprice's, dating from at least the late 1980's through to the end of Caprice production in North America in 1996. After turning to the Crown Victoria, it seems EPS did at least sample a few Chevrolet Impala's as we've spotted a few of the 8th generation body style, produced between 2000 and 2005. None of the later generations were used as marked vehicles. Compared to some sections, we only have a limited number of photos of these cars available to us at this point. The Caprice's would have featured both the yellow livery, and the blue stripe livery. I'm not sure if any Caprice's received the red stripe. I kind of assume not. Indeed, the only reason I took a photo of A30 was because it didn't have the red stripe which was introduced around 2001. It wouldn't be for another few years until I really started taking photos of police cars. Depending upon when they were delivered, it's possible the Impala's may have had just the blue stripe, but more than like they were blue and red stripes. 884 has been preserved in the yellow livery.
