STRATHCONA COUNTY TRANSIT
2007 Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 Demonstrator #7000

In 2010, Strathcona County Transit decided to lease an Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 double decker bus for an entire year in order to run extensive tests before committing to purchasing anything. The bus, a demonstrator unit built in 2007, arrived in late August 2010, at which point it was repainted into the old maroon SCT livery and assigned fleet number 7000. Although its first public appearance was on September 12th, it didn't actually enter revenue service until late December due to various delays. It ran in regular service until late July 2011, before returning to its former role as a demonstrator bus. Powered by a Cummins ISM engine and ZF 6HP602C transmission, it differed from the 14 units delivered to SCT in 2014 in that it featured this drivetrain, non-restyled front and rear ends, and a full height upper deck.
