In late 2002, Strathcona County Transit took delivery of four Prevost LeMirage XL-II highway coaches #1001-1004. Powered by Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines and Allison B500R transmissions,
these buses were purchased partially to help SCT expand into long distance charters. When not in this service, they can be found on various commuter routes running into Edmonton.
The majority of these units were retired and sold in 2016, having been replaced by two orders of Enviro 500's. 1004 and 1005 ran until mid-2017, but all retained their original maroon livery until the end. They also carry the distinction of being the first units
to carry this particular version of the livery, with the wavy stripes instead of the plain horizontal ones. Originally delivered without destination signs, all four units were soon fitted with green Pocatec
LCD signs on the front only.
