Strathcona County Transit's first new articulated buses were four New Flyer D60LFs delivered in 2001. Powered by Detroit Diesel Series 50 engines and Allison B500R5 transmissions, these buses primarily operated on midday commuter service into Edmonton until they were prematurally retired in 2012-2013. 952 and 953 ran until mid 2012, while 954 and 955 weren't retired until almost a year later. All were originally delivered with rollsigns, however 952 was the only one to retain them until retirement. 953 acquired a full set of Balios destination signs (possibly out of D60 #951), followed by 954 receiving a bizzare combination of signage; a Balios sign was installed in place of the front destination rollsign, but the numerical side of the rollsign was retained to be used in conjunction with the retrofitted electronic sign! It is unknown whether any operators actually used the two halfs of the sign at the same time, however. Shortly afterward, 954 and 955 received proper Balios destination sign retrofits for their last year or so of service.
