Strathcona County Transit took delivery of of their first two, and only two, GM Classics in 1984. Numbered 879 and 880, these two buses were powered by Detroit Diesel 6V71N engines and Allison V731 transmissions. Originally painted in a unique white and black livery, both were eventually rebuilt and repainted into variations on the maroon livery. #879 was retrofitted with a Balios destination sign on the front only, while #880 retained its rollsigns. These two buses ran in service until early 2014, at which point they were retired due to the delivery of 14 Alexander Dennis Enviro 500 double decker buses (#s 8001-8014). As of mid 2014, #s 879 and 880 remain on property in storage.
