Fleet Services

The ETS bus fleet is maintained by the City of Edmonton's Fleet Services branch. Fleet Services has 2-3 tow trucks dedicated to the bus fleet. In addition to towing buses, Fleet Services crews also utilize a fleet of trucks with push bumpers which can be seen on City streets when they are attending to buses for a variety of reasons. No doubt, they are used for pushing dead buses at the garage.
For minor defects that can be fixed on the road, Fleet Services has a truck staffed during weekdays loaded with supplies to make those repairs. Previously this vehicle was based out of Westwood and known as the "Westwood Van". I can only image that function is still fulfilled, but now based out of Andrews.
There is L3021, a truck used to haul tires between garages. This truck was designed in house.

Bus In Tow- This is were photos of City of Edmonton, and contracted tow trucks will show up, as well as photos of buses (and streetcars!) being towed/ transported.

Presently, there are believed to be 4 tow trucks in fleet consisting of 2 rather massive units, one being a Kenworth, the other an International. There is an older Freightliner unit which we haven't seen much of lately, and every now and then an old International puts in an appearance. In the past it was common to see Cliffs Towing hauling buses, although as of January 26, 2026 Cliff's has ceased operation. You can also catch City of Edmonton tow trucks hauling ETS buses.

R2783 1993 Chevy 2500 January 7, 2011 R2783 is a bit of an oddball. Paterson often usually seemed to have something old hanging around. This one was quite unusual for a City vehicle as it seems to just be in some sort of factory paint.

B2643 2000 Chevy Tahoe Westwood Push Truck June 13, 2009 B2643 inside of Westwood Garage. This is a former inspector vehicle, later used as a push truck while Cromdale was in use, before spending time at Westwood. At some point it lost all of it's decals. That makes me wonder if it was being readied for disposal but then retained. This was likely Westwood Van's backup.
