To facilitate the rebuilding of Southgate Transit Centre to incorporate a new LRT station, ETS had to operate out of a temporary transit centre located a few blocks North of 51 Ave for approximately a 1 year period until all of the concrete work was done.
This transit centre featured 4 lanes, a portable washroom for the operators, and 2 modular shelters which would be relocated to Southgate when the temporary transit centre closed, and once the new Southgate building opened, the modular shelters were moved to Jasper Place to become the new shelter to replaced the original shelter.
Following the move back to Southgate, the temporary transit centre was utilized as a lay down yard for SLRT construction, in particular for EPCOR crews working on the electrification portion.

Only a few days until opening, and paving still needs to be done.
