Castle Downs Transit Center is located in Northwest Edmonton near Beaumaris Lake. The original overall design is similar to Lakewood Transit Centre with very minimal facilities, consisting of a concrete island and standard bus shelters. Drivers were provided with a portable-type washroom which wasn't tied into City services.
The transit centre differs from Lakewood in that the centre island is only 3 bus bays long (vs. 6 bays at Lakewood). Additional bus bays are provided along Castle Downs Road and around the outside perimeter of the bus driveway.

The first upgrades to this terminal occurred in 2002 with the installation of a shelter formerly from the original Clareview Station platform, and later an upgraded washroom.

During 2016/ 17 the bus driveway (basically all of the concrete) was replaced, and finally during Fall 2017/ Winter 2018 with Federal PTIF and Provincial GreenTRIP grants a new building was built to replace the former Clareview shelter.

This transit centre is along the planned alignment of the future NLRT extension towards St. Albert.
