Corona was a part of the first extension of the original NE LRT line to start making the push towards south Edmonton. Although this extension was only a few blocks from 101 St to 108 Ave, it featured Corona as the end of line, and Bay Station as an intermediate station. Bay and Corona both share a similar styling with mirrored wall finishes which make them a favourite station for many people. Corona station also feature chandeliers hanging from the concourse level, reaching down towards the platform.
Corona Station is name for the Corona Hotel that stood at the corner of Jasper Ave and 107 St, where the main entrance to Corona Station is located.
Changes and modifications to Corona Station have been minimal so far. Platform edging has been replaced with tactile tiles, all escalators from the concourse to the platform were replaced during 2019/20. Some surface entrances have been upgraded over time, originally being open concrete stairwells, later receiving canopies, and later still receiving doors.
