Coliseum Station is the 2nd surface station on the original NE LRT line, located at 118 Ave, north of the original Cromdale LRT facility. Coliseum Station uniquely situated partially on an overpass over 118 Ave. Like Stadium, with CN trackage originally on either side, as well as the 118 Ave underpass, a underground concourse is used to access the platform. This avoids any pedestrian crossing of the LRT or CN tracks. The former home of the Edmonton Oilers, the Northlands Coliseum, is located immediately east of the station which is named after it. While The Coliseum has undergone a few names changes (Skyreach Centre, Rexall Place), the LRT station has retained the same name.

Of all of the NE surface stations, so far Coliseum has seen the least amount of changes. The platform has seen some work done for repairs due to weathering, and the wood ties were replaced with concrete ties. However, with the Edmonton Oilers moving to a new building in Downtown, the Coliseum is slated for demolition and all of the Northlands area is to be redeveloped into a new community. As part of this, there is a proposal to build two new station north and south of the existing Coliseum Station to support these redevelopment efforts. So far there is no timeline or funding for this proposal.
