EDMONTON TRANSIT SYSTEM
2004 New Flyer D40LF
#4403-4437

Delivery of these 35 D40LF buses began during the middle March 2004 and lasted into April. As a result of the then-new EPA 2004 diesel emissions standards, these buses included Cummins ISL engines in place of the earlier ISC. They also featured updated seating
(American Seating Metropolitan instead of model 6468). #4407 was involved in a collision with a house in early 2007, and as a result had its entire front end rebuilt.
Later retrofits include blue ETS insignia seat inserts (select units only), Smartbus GPS & stop announcement systems, interior and exterior cameras, operator's compartment shields & A/C units, and smart card readers for the ARC fare system. As of November 2023, all of these buses are in active service.
