After not ordering a bus from a British company since 1942, ETS placed an order for 3 Daimler SRC6 Roadliner's for testing as prototypes. They then went and ordered an additional 25. These buses had the Daimler SRC6 Roadliner chassis, and Duple bodies. The 25 production buses were ordered in 1966 but none even started to be delivered until February 1967 (704 and 705). The last one arrived in January 1968 (716, 721, 722). The 3 prototypes arrived in August/ September 1966. These buses were powered by a Cummins V6-200 diesel engine and a Allusion automatic transmission. 701-703 and 718 were retired in 1973, with 704-717, 719-728 being retired in 1974. #707 was retained and renumbered to 120 and converted into the Info Bus sometime probably in late 1975 or 1976 to help advertise the major route changes that accompanied the name change to Edmonton Transit from Edmonton Transit System and the paint scheme change in 1976. It was a similar roll to this that 1993 D40LF #214 was used in. #214 painted into ETS blue and silver paint scheme and equipped with a Balios destination sign. It traveled to transit centres, schools and other places with lots of transit users to show of the new paint scheme, and mainly to provide information on the major route changes known as Horizon 2000 which became effective on June 29, 1997. After use in this roll, #120 joined the ETS Historical Fleet still painted as the info bus. Eventually it was sent to scrap in this condition. All of the other Daimlers were sold between 1973 (701 and 718 only) and February 1976.
