A lot has changed in regards to the electric bus purchase that has been in the works for a few years now. Initially 5 buses were to be delivered for initial service out of Mitchell. Then the garage was changed to Centennial, and then reduced to just 2 buses to arrive during the late summer of 2019. Finally, ETS ended up with 2 pilot/ test buses in order to test the electrification infrastructure and Centennial and start initial training on the buses. Centennial is also seemingly taking on a larger role than it may have initially as part of the Provincial level of funding that went into the electric bus fleet specifically calls for a portion of the fleet to used with the future bus service on Terwillegar Drive once it has been upgraded to an expressway. We did receive confirmation that the buses are at least on paper as #6014 and 6015. ETS has said that these 2 buses won't be used in passenger service.
