EDMONTON TRANSIT SYSTEM
1994 Overland ELF 126 / Ford E-450 diesel #54 (ex. CNG)

ELF #54 was a unique specimen in the ETS fleet. Delivered in 1994, it originally featured a tri-axle, CNG powered configuration with rooftop mounted tanks. This particular model was known as the ELF 126 (as opposed to the 125, which encompassed every other ETS ELF). Like #53, it was originally assigned a number in the general City of Edmonton fleet: T3245. It was renumbered to 54 sometime in the mid 1990s (the rest of ETS' cutaways also recieved similar changes in numbering at this time). After numerous issues related to the propulsion system, ETS chose to rebuild this bus as a conventional diesel in the late 1990s. It lost the third axle and CNG tanks, and gained an entirely new front end (complete with updated Ford E-Series grille and badging). It was also repainted into the then-new blue and silver ETS scheme. Despite all of these modifications, the bus still retained its extra windows on either side (4 and 5 as opposed to 3 and 4). While #53 was retired in around 2002-2003, #54 continued in service until the mass retirement of the ELFs in 2011, for a total of 17 years in regular service.
