In June 1994 until the end of 1994, Calgary Transit operated a 1989 Orion 01.508 CNG Natural Gas powered bus.  This bus was powered by the Cummins L10 engine with an Allison HT740 transmission.  Calgary Transit gave the number 8510 to this bus while it operated here.  During 8510's service life with Calgary, it operated on the Route 4 - Huntington/North Haven.  This bus also operated in Toronto Transit Commission service for a year's trial in 1990, GO Transit (Southern Ontario) for 2 years following the TTC trial, and then tested in Edmonton Transit service from October 1993 until May 1994 when it was sent down to Calgary.
