In 2002, Calgary Transit received 35 new New Flyer D40LF buses numbered 7783-7817. These ones were built identically to the 2001 D40LF's except they had larger exterior marker lights, the simulated wooden paneling replaced with standard white paneling on the interior walls, and later after delivery, units 7793 and 7795-7817 had the TSP (Traffic Signal Priority) Transponder box installed on them. These buses were still powered by the Cummins ISC engine with the Allison World B400R5 transmission, however many have since been upgraded to the Cummins ISL engine.
