1992 New Flyer D40 #7001-7010

Calgary Transit's first New Flyer buses were 10 D40's, #7001-7010, delivered in 1992. Most of the buses in this order were retired in 2006-2008, upon discovery of heavy frame corrosion and the resulting high cost of rebuild. #7001, however, received a full rebuild and remained active until late 2013, at which point it was sold to the Sunshine Village ski resort for use as a shuttle bus. These buses were powered by Detroit Diesel 6V92TA engines and Voith D863 transmissions.
