CALGARY TRANSIT
1969 GMDD T6H5305
#622-636
Calgary Transit's first order of T6H5305's were delivered in 1969. Buses
624-629 were used as painted advertising buses for different companies.
624 was painted for Re/Max, 625 was the Shell gas station bus, 626 was painted
for Campbell's Soup, 627 was painted for the Calgary Herald, 628 was painted for
Pink Insulation, and 629 was painted for the Talking Yellow Pages. Most of
these buses were retired and scrapped, however, 625, 627, and 629 were sold to
the Town of Cold Lake, 626 was sold to Westerhaug Bus Lines in Yorkton, SK, 630
was sold to Air Canada in Toronto for use at the airport, and 635 and 636 were
sold to St Albert Transit as 809 and 810. These buses were the last ones
delivered to Calgary Transit in the old seafoam green and oyster white livery.
All were powered by the Detroit Diesel 6V71 engine and the Allison VH9
transmission.
