Throughout 2002, Calgary Transit had received a good look at two Dennis Trident double decker buses, numbers 9035 and 9036.  9036 was the first to arrive on June 1, 2002 and was on demonstration at the Spring Gardens Bus Garage on June 3, 2002.   That particular bus was on a cross-Canada tour, with stops from eastern Canada to Western Canada while that bus was on delivery.  Then in November 2002, 9035 came to Calgary for a demonstration at the Canadian Urban Transit Authority (CUTA) for their Trans-Expo 2002.  It was only on display for the day at the Telus Convention Centre where people from the Transit industry meet yearly to display new products and innovations.

In 2003 for the month of June, Calgary Transit had it's official demonstration of a Dennis Trident on loan from BC Transit (Victoria).  The bus ran on the routes 3, 5 and 64 in the peak hours only on a special running board just for this bus.  #9027 is powered by a Cummins ISM engine with a Voith D864.3 transmission.
