Calgary Transit received 20 1966 TDH-5301's built by GMC in US. While the New Look body style was available in 35' and 40' lengths, it wasn't until 1969 that it became available in 30'. Before that the only 30' buses available from GM were the TDH-3501's. While the body style was old, the engine was new. The engine was the new Toro-flow. It was not very successful. All of them were retired in 1980. The Fire Department acquired 317 from Calgary Transit and was later traded for a 1975 GM T6H5307N #819. #317 had been kept under the cover of the large storage tent behind Spring Gardens from about the summer of 1993 until 10 years later when in June 2003, it was later donated to the Reynolds-Alberta Museum.
