CALGARY TRANSIT
1948
ACF Brill TC44 #485-504
in 1956, Calgary Transit was in search of purchasing a second hand trolley coach to help expand it's trolley coach fleet to meet the route demands of extensions that were made around this time. Because no trolley coach manufacturer in Canada was available to produce any, Calgary Transit had been in contact with Baltimore Transit Company to purchase 20 used 1948 ACF- Brill TC44 trolley coaches at a price of $3000 each bus, delivered in 1957. The former Baltimore coaches were numbered 2171 to 2190 and were renumbered 485-504, in no particular order. They were all retired by 1967 and 494 and 503 remained for several years afterwards being used as portable bus shelters for such events as the Calgary Stampede.
