Calgary Transit received it's first order of 30 trolley coaches in 1947 from
Canadian Car & Foundry (CC&F) Brill from Fort William, Ontario, now
known as Thunder Bay, Ontario. These buses were delivered by train and
kept in storage at the old Street Car barns until they were needed, with trolley
coaches 400-409 brought out to a temporary line that was strung in west Calgary
from 4 Street SW along 8th Avenue westbound to 9th Street, then north on 9th
Street to 4th Avenue and back eastbound to 4th Street SW to the beginning of the
trolley loop. Out of this order, only 422 survives and is now located at
the Reynolds-Alberta Museum.

422 is shown photographed sitting at the south exit of the Spring Gardens
Garage waiting to be shipped off to the Reynolds-Alberta Museum.
Unfortunately when they moved this bus out from the old storage tent (Where
the new expansion to the Spring Gardens Garage), the bus god damaged by the
destination sign and also on the rear bumper. |
