Over time, we've built up a collection of material from
vehicle manufactures, components suppliers, and transit agencies that detail
their equipment. The purpose of this page is to bring all of that information
together into one section of this website. Consider this to be version 1.0 of
this section. For now, it will just be a single page split up into motor buses,
trolleybuses, and streetcars/ rapid transit. Some of the material on this page
was put out by the transit agencies and covers multiple makes/ models of
vehicles. In some cases, these documents could be linked to from multiple
locations within Barp.ca (such as Edmonton material!) and in other cases, like
the SEPTA trackless trolley document, this might be the only place on Barp that
you'll find it given the lack of SEPTA content on here otherwise.
In the future if we have enough material, we might break this section into
manufacture specific pages. We will also be starting up a demonstrator
photos segment within this section, initially drawing on the material already on
Barp. Finally, included on this page is a Spottings page I started this page back in 2008
and it has been lurking around in the background on the server since then. My
intentions were two fold. First, to detail different features between different
years of bus production. Examples would be changes between GM New Look models,
or the changes during the course of NovaBus LFS production. Second, and what
I've primarily built so far, are examples of older buses. The late Peter Cox
allowed me to scan a bunch of black and white negatives from his collection and
I was curious what these buses were and this page was built as a result. For now
it is a limited reference, but, it is a start!
All PDF's are fully searchable, so, search engines should be
able to crawl them and provide links to them from search engines. We're hoping
to be able to get a lot of information out there that might not otherwise exist.
Special thanks to 'Captain Trolley' who supplied us with most
of the initial documents on this page.
If documents to pertain to a specific city/ operation, those
are noted in brackets on the date line.
