Help make your mark for restoring a vintage transit bus.  By clicking the above button labeled "Make a Donation" or "PayPal Subscribe" you will be taken to PayPal's secure website where you can make a donation using your bank account or your major credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express).  All donors will have their name placed on a plaque that will be mounted in the bus when the restoration process is completed.  All donations collected from PayPal or from other forms will be put towards the cost of restoring this bus.  Restoration items that will be completed includes repainting the bus to the 1978 looks (See the photo above under the section "Plans with the bus"), purchasing a set of 6 tires, doing some minor body work, some minor engine work, and other smaller stuff that will be done to the bus (Such as logos, paper items like transfers and schedules, replacing the taillights to the original "as delivered" style and more)  If you wish to make a donation of cash, check, or money order, please E-Mail me by clicking this link  Thank you for your donation and I hope to have this bus restored soon!

Donations have reached over $3400 towards the help to get this bus restored.  The total estimated cost to get this bus restored is approximately $14,000 for restoration work to be done from start to finish.  The break down for what needs to be done includes:

Things needing to be completed: Things that have been completed:
  -Engine work - $1000 ($426.11 used, 42.6% of the budget).  Completed August 10, 2004
  -Undercarriage work - $5885 (Not budgeted for).  Completed August 27, 2004
  -New tires $3000 (Used tires were installed instead on Sept. 20/04, valued at $1000, see note on that date).  Completed September 20, 2004
  -Last of the undercarriage repairs, etc. will be approximately $1000 (Repaired windshield, front stepwell, air leveling valve, and front brake line, used $995.10 out of a budgeted $1000).  Completed April 14, 2005
  -Repair windshield wiper motor and fluid dispenser, and repair floor - used $278.20 out of a budgeted $325.  Completed May 19, 2005
  -Alberta Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspection, $214.  Completed May 19, 2005
  -Body work/paint job - Up to $4500, used $6264 (over budget by $1764), completed November 2, 2005
  -E Transit decals for side of bus - $107 (Following paint job), used $112.50 (over budget by $5.50), completed October 2005
  -Alberta Commercial Vehicle Safety Inspection, $214.  Completed November 30, 2005
  -Purchase block heater, install block heater, fill with new coolant, and change oil/filter on engine - $757.  Completed by December 9, 2005

So far, $185 of the donation money has been used to go towards maintenance costs to get the bus in operating condition and a further $426.11 was used to have Detroit Diesel coming out to replace the bad injector, and the remainder of the money was used for the undercarriage work.  When more donation money is raised, it will go towards the bodywork and paint.
