RTC Transit Las Vegas - 2003 Irisbus Civis #M01-M10

The Irisbus Civis, an articulated bus designed for BRT operations, features an optical driver assistance system. The concept involves a sensor mounted at the front of the bus that reads lines on the roadway to allow for automated docking at bus stops. While interesting in principle, the system never caught on in North America and thus these ten units are the only examples in operation. They are powered by series hybrid systems.
