In July 2022, Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church travelled to Edmonton to offer an offical apology to Indigenous Residental School survivors. His trip consisted of several public appearances and events, many of which utilized chartered transit vehicles for the general public as well as VIP's. A handful of Calgary Transit and Red Deer Transit buses travelled to Edmonton for the events, however none were operated within city limits; to our knowledge, they were used to shuttle specific visitors to and from designated sites in the Greater Edmonton Area. The buses were stored and fueled at ETS' Centennial Garage. This series of photos (taken July 26th, 2022) showcases various buses departing Centennial Garage.
