#501 was a 1948 CCF&F/Brill C-36 bus. Before coming to the Red Deer Transit System, this bus had been with Calgary Transit, and Sorenson Bus Line's. This bus was originally purchased by Calgary Transit as #329. It was sold in September 1963 to Sorenson Bus Lines as #173 and sold to the City of Red Deer in 1966, after Red Deer took over operation of the transit system. #501 was renumbered to 71-01, and retired and sold in 1969.
