Durham Region Transit

Durham Region, Ontario

Durham Region Transit started operations on January 1, 2006 after the merging of the 4 transit operations in the Durham Region of Ontario: Oshawa Transit Commission, Whitby Transit, and the Ajax-Pickering Transit Authority. The 4th operation is the service operated for Clarington by Oshawa Transit. Oshawa and Clarington became known as Durham East. Whitby became Durham Centre. Ajax and Pickering were together in Durham West. The renumbering scheme was as follows:

Oshawa buses had an 8 added ahead of their fleet number so that 115 became 8115.
APTA buses had the 20 replaced with 80 so that 2015 became 8015.
Whitby buses had the first two digits (indicating the year of the bus) replaced with 83 so that 9821 became 8321.
The Clarington buses were given numbers in the high 809X's.

Note: In sections where there are buses from different operators originally, I will attempt to list the buses in chronological order by serial number.
