New Flyer D40 Prototype #3401 was used in Vancouver and Victoria in its
earlier years as a demonstrator bus for the newly designed body offered by
New Flyer. This bus was built to AC Transit (Oakland, CA)
specifications and was later sold to Beaver Bus Lines in Selkirk,
MB. This photo shows the bus at the New Flyer plant in Winnipeg, MB. |

Although this photo was not taken in Vancouver, this bus was used in
Vancouver in 1990 as a demonstrator for the New Flyer D60 Articulated bus,
nicknamed the "Galaxy" bus by New Flyer. This photo shows
the bus in Ottawa on loan to OC Transpo for demonstration from New Flyer
as a Methanol fueled bus. It was previously diesel, then converted
to methanol for a short time, then returned to diesel power before it was
sold to Community Transit of Lynnwood, Washington |
