2008 Nova Bus LFS-40 HEV #3001-3004

Along with the three diesel LFS' delivered in 2008, SCT also received four diesel-electric hybrid models. Originally delivered as #940-943, the buses were soon renumbered to #3001-3004. This was most likely done to avoid future numbering conflicts in the 95x range, and to allow for the creation of a new number series to separate the hybrids from the conventional diesels. These buses feature Allison EP40 electric drives mated to Cummins ISL engines. They are also very rare examples of non T-Drive hybrid LFS'; if I recall correctly, no more than 20 were built in this configuration! These buses carried the maroon paint scheme upon delivery, however were repainted into a custom green "hybrid" version of this livery soon after. This livery lasted a few years, only to be replaced by the current green livery in 2012. Hard to believe that the buses have featured three different liveries in less than five years! 3003 and 3004 were retired and auctioned off sometime in 2019. 3001 and 3002 continue in service as of mid 2021.
