STRATHCONA COUNTY TRANSIT
1985 GMC T7J-604 #881

Strathcona County Transit #881 was originally a demonstrator bus for GMC, being received by the County of Strathcona Transit System in April 1987 after use in Orlando, Florida. This bus was the only RTS operated by a transit system in Alberta (and Western Canada, I do believe). Like most transit systems, it seems, SCT had a bus with a full paint (or vinyl wrap) ad for RE/MAX at some point, and 881 was the bus for SCT which had one. Originally painted in the maroon SCT livery but with the old logo used on the buses when they were in the Edmonton Transit paint scheme, this bus then received the RE/MAX ad, having that removed in about 2000. This bus was an odd ball in the fleet, and from what I have been told, it wasn't very well liked by the drivers either. I would imagine it was also a pain to have to maintain a parts supply just for one bus! The bus was most likely retired for these reasons. It has since been found sitting in a lot in South Edmonton.
