ST. ALBERT TRANSIT
1992 New Flyer D40LF #843

#843 was a 1992 D40LF that was originally a New Flyer demonstrator bus built to BC Transit (Victoria) specifications. Originally numbered 888, this bus was later renumbered to 843 for the sake of fitting in with the rest of the St. Albert fleet. When compared to the 1991 units running in Victoria, the only difference apparent between those and #843 was the color of the seats. Nonetheless, this bus featured equipment not found on other St. Albert buses at the time, including electronic destination signs, a rooftop HVAC, and a unique front and rear door configuration. This bus was powered by a Detroit Diesel 6V92TA engine, however it had a Voith D863 transmission in place of the ZF 4HP500 transmissions found on St. Albert's 1993 D40LFs (#s 844-846). This bus was retired in around 2006-2007.
