ST. ALBERT TRANSIT
2009 New Flyer D40LFR #s 878-886

Coinciding with ETS' large 121 bus order in 2009, St. Albert Transit also took delivery of a handful of buses (9) during that year. This helped facilitate service expansion and the retirement of the remaining MCI Classics. The 9 New Flyer D40LFR buses, #s 878-886, were speced similar to the 2007 D40LFRs, with the only major exception being the restyled (squared-off) door glass - a standard feature implemented by New Flyer for the 2009 model year. As per the EPA 2007 diesel emissions standards, these buses featured updated, lower emissions versions of the Cummins ISL. As of 2020, all 9 of these buses are in active service. #881 was involved in a major collision in late September 2014, and emerged rebuilt and repainted into the new (green) livery in mid December of the same year (giving it the distinction of being the first repainted unit).
