1997 New Flyer D40LF #s 850-852

St. Albert took delivery of three New Flyer D40LFs, #s 850-852, in 1997. Unlike previous orders, these units included rear-mounted Thermo King HVACs (hence the lack of a rear window). They were still powered by Detroit Diesel Series 50 engines and Allison B400R5 transmissions however. #852 was refitted with Luminator Horizon destination signs in 2011-2012. As of early 2015, all three have been retired and sold. They were supposed to have been retired upon the delivery of three New Flyer XD40s in 2014, however 851 remained in service until finally being retired in late 2014.
