EDMONTON TRANSIT SERVICE
Security/ Peace Officers

This page will be covering the fleet of vehicles used originally by the Security and Peace Officers. Originally with a smaller LRT system, and Inspectors doing a lot of security-type duties on the bus network, the Security team was pretty small. When the Province brought in the Peace Officer program, ETS's Transit Security Officers (TSO's) went through the required training and became Transit Peace Officers (TPO). Along with that designation came new vehicles and branding, as well as red and blue light bars instead of the amber light bars previously used. Although the numbers on the original vehicles weren't standard City fleet numbers, the vehicles would have had a standard fleet number, they are just generally unknown by "us". Later cars have included the City number on the hood. Numbers have also been reused. The original 01 from 2007 was replaced by a Crown Vic in 2009. With the Edmonton Police seemingly have retired all of their Crown Victoria's and Dodge Chargers, ETS's were the last in Edmonton for a police-type force.
