Side Dump Cars #2301-2310, 2201-2202
Side dump cars #2301-2310 were built for use on the LRT extension under Jasper Ave to
Corona Station in order facilitate the removal of material excavated by the
tunnel boring machine.
Edmonton Transit purchased a number of freight cars in order to acquire the
necessary running gear to build the cars on.
Early on, 2301 had it's body damaged, and the frame collapsed on 2304 at which
point the body of 2304 was mounted on the frame of 2301.
It is suspected that 2305 and 2310 were rebuilt as 2201-2202 in the late 1990's/
early 2000's.
2304 and 2308 made it until 2011 at which point they were scrapped.
2302, 2303, 2306, 2307, and 2309 were scrapped at an unknown earlier date.
