 #2010- 1949 GE 45 Ton Diesel Electric Locomotive

#2010 was purchased used from Great Northern Pulp and Paper Co. by ETS to replace 1912 GE/ Alco #2001 used in heavy work service on the LRT line. The locomotive has seen a variety of uses including hauling clearance test trains (towing U-2's with clearance gauges attached), ballast trains, and hauling dead trains. The locomotive is powered by a pair of Cummins NH220 diesel engines, and 2 GE E733 traction motors. Unlike a lot of diesel electric locomotives that have a traction motor for each axle, GE 45 ton locomotives with only 2 traction motors use the side rod trucks to transmit power to axle without a traction motor.
