Along with the 4 New Flyer DE40LFR's received in 2007, ETS also acquired a pair of Orion VII 07.501 Hybrids in late 2006. This particular system utillized the BAE HybriDrive Systems Series Hybrid technology mated to a Cummins ISB. Other options, such as interior styling and destination signs were standard ETS spec. After extensive testing, and appearances on ETS' annual "Stuff a Bus" Christmas campaign, bus 6005 officially entered revenue service on Decmeber 18th, 2006 (on route 106 - which ran from Lessard to Capilano at the time). Bus 6006 took 6005's place on the same run the next day. The abandonment of the ETS Hybrid Bus project, as well as the bankruptcy of Orion, ensured that these two buses were the only two Orion VII's to operate in Western Canada. They operated on a wide variety of routes through their service lives, however were more often than not assigned to peak hour extras. 6006 was retired on August 13th, 2018, and 6005 on May 27th, 2019.
