2014 BYD Auto K9 Battery Electric demonstrators #6011-6012  

In late 2015, ETS took delivery of a second pair of BYD (Build Your Dreams - A Chinese battery company) electric demonstrator buses. Assigned fleet numbers 6011 and 6012, the pair ran in revenue service throughout the winter of 2015-2016. These units differed from the previous pair in that they were built to operate in North American winter conditions. They were actually delayed by more than a year as BYD was not able to complete the prototypes for late 2014. #6011 featured a heating system powered by a small diesel motor, while #6012 (not delivered until early 2016) used all-electric heat. Both buses were returned by March 2016.
