EDMONTON TRANSIT SYSTEM
2009 ElDorado Passport #28

Unsatisfied with the performance of the Glaval Easy Ons, ETS began examining additional options for Para Transit fleet renewal. In late 2009, they picked up a single ElDorado Passport on GMC TopKick C5500 chassis. This bus is an ex manufacturer demo unit, and thus isn't built to ETS' usual specs. It was most likely built in 2009, however this remains unconfirmed. With the majority of the ELF buses reaching 10+ years in service at the time, ETS probably decided to purchase this unit out of sheer despiration for new buses! They did end up selecting this model for future orders though, and have (so far) recieved an additional 26 ElDorado Passports starting with the 2011 deliveries. #28 remains the only one with a GMC chassis (the rest are either Chevrolet or International) and A/C. As of mid-2018, this bus is retired, having been replaced by the 2000-series Vicinity units.
