EDMONTON TRANSIT SYSTEM
2007 New Flyer DE40LFR #6002 (ETS Platinum)  

In mid 2008, ETS DE40LFR #6002 was sent back to New Flyer for reconfiguration. Original rumours dictated that the bus was to be converted into some sort of suburban configuration; however the retrofits went far beyond that! A number of the new features were most likely subsidized by equipment manufacturers for the sake of promoting new options (hence the manufacturer logos printed on the sides of the rooftop battery pack). These new features included Luminator Spectrum full-color LED destination signs, USSC Aries seating with custom "ETS blue" fabric inserts (which became standard equipment starting with the 2009 D40LFR's), 2 REI video monitors, a GFI Genfare electronic farebox, Alcoa "Dura-Bright" wheels, frameless windows, a custom purple / green "chameleon" paint scheme, overhead luggage racks, and reading lights. This bus was mostly used for charters and special events, although it did make it out into regular service on occasion. It was retired on October 18th, 2022, and sent to auction in Calgary.
