1908 Ottawa Car Manufacturing Company #1

Built by the Ottawa Car Manufacturing Company in 1908, #1 was actually the second car delivered to the ERRS (it arrived after #2). They were built as double ended cars, but most had been converted to single ended cars by 1931. After the end of streetcar service in 1951, #1 remained on ETS property for preservation. It then sat outside for many years before finally being restored by volunteers in the 1970's. It ran across the top of the High Level Bridge for the city's 75th anniversary in 1979, towing a diesel generator down the remaining center CP track. In 1984, #1 became Fort Edmonton Park's first operational streetcar. It remains in service at Fort Edmonton, however is generally only used on special occasions.
